The Bali Vacations Blog began as a shared notebook between friends who kept renting villas on the island and kept being asked the same questions back home: where should we stay, is it alright with young children, and how do we actually get around? Rather than answer them one message at a time, we started writing it all down.

Everything here is written from the point of view of families. We care about the practical details that make or break a trip with children and grandparents in tow — gated pools, ground-floor bedrooms, calm beaches and drivers who know the roads — far more than we care about chasing the next trend.

Our focus is villa holidays because, after years of trying both, we think a private villa is simply the better way to experience Bali as a family. But you will also find honest notes on beaches, activities, the wet season and staying healthy, because a good holiday is more than a nice place to sleep.
