The Mad River Valley is all about playing in the snow.  Known for its legendary downhill skiing, ranging from the manicured slopes of Sugarbush to the moguls of Mad River Glen, it is also a place where those who love cross country skiing, snowboarding, dog sledding, snowshoeing and snowball fights are in heaven.

Mad River Glen:  Famous for its legendary terrain, pristine environment and the only single chair lift in North America, Mad River Glen is America's most unique ski experience.

Vermont Adaptive Ski and Sports:  A non profit organization providing sports and recreational opportunities to people with disabilities. 

And if you haven't had enough, try Stowe (about 20 miles to the north up Route 100), or Killington (about 1 hour to the south on Route 100).

Ole’s Cross Country Center: Ole's offers 45KM of European-like skiing through rolling meadows and forest. The trail network is suited for all abilities and is expertly groomed daily.

Blueberry Lake Cross Country Ski Center:  All trails are engineered and graded for an average skier's ultimate enjoyment.  496-6687

Mad River Path: The MRPA maintains year-round paths throughout the Mad River Valley, providing a variety of experiences and recreation.

Catamount Trail: Open to the public in the winter, the 300-mile Catamount Trail is North America’s longest cross-country ski trail.

Sugarbush Outback Adventures Tour Sugarbush mountain, including the 2,000 acre Slide Brook Wildlife Management Area, with experienced guides.

Mad River Glen Guided Snowshoe Treks Includes a wide variety of treks such as a full moon trek and wildlife tracking workshop.

 Snowmobiling and Ice Skating
 
VAST Trails: VAST sets the standard for well-marked trails, readable maps, easy access to fuel stops, food and accommodations. Its many convenient trailheads mean snowmobilers can hook up to trails to anywhere in the state.

The Ice Center:  A state of the art ice arena providing a safe environment for people of all ages.
