The River

Running through the Valley is the backwards-flowing Mad River, which attracts visitors for its beauty and all that it offers.  In the summer, people come for afternoon dips in its many swimming holes. In the spring, white water canoeists and kayakers take on river, which running fast with melting mountain snows provides an adventure for all abilities.

The Mad River and the brooks that feed it are home to brook, rainbow and brown trout that provide a wonderful fishing experience for both accomplished fly fishermen and kids with sticks and string.
